Finding Your Niche
By Chuck Satterthwaite | June 20, 2010
Selecting what product or service you will promote in finding
your niche market needs to be based on a straightforward
principle. There needs to be a demand for your product or
service. You want to offer something that people actually need,
something that is likely to make their lives better, get them to
feel better physically, cause them to look better, or help them
solve an issue.
Once you have chosen a product or service to market,
researching to find the right niche for the product or service
is the next most important part of beginning a niche marketing
program. When finding your niche the items that you need to know
are where people spend their time online, and what makes them
tick from a personal and business point of view. There is niche
internet marketing software out there that can help you learn
the technical stuff about your particular niche market.
The next thing you’ll want to learn when finding your
niche is what you could reasonably charge with regards to
your product or service. The best and most effective way to do
this is to visit sites that advertise products or services
similar to what you have chosen to sell. It ought to be obvious
if they are giving away something or selling the product at a
price cheaper than you would have to charge.
If you can determine that there are people who are willing to
spend cash to purchase what you are selling, and you will
identify those people, then you’ve got a niche product or
service that will make money online. Sometimes it takes
reframing your product or service to make it more attractive,
better, or merely different than what others can sell it for.
Research is paramount to being successful when finding your
niche market.
